JUNIOR WILDLIFE EXPERIENCE
WHAT HAPPENS IN A JUNIOR WILD LIFE EXPERIENCE
This treat has been created for our younger guests aged 6 - 15 years. Little animal lovers can experience a behind the scenes 'mini zookeeper adventure' learning all about our fabulous wildlife and how to care for them in this two hour wildlife extravaganza. Images will be downloaded onto a disk and presented to you as a memento of your Junior Wildlife Experience.
HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE
6 - 15 years (inclusive)
HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE TAKING PART
We can take up to three children per session. Session times 10.15am - 12.15pm or 2.00pm - 4.00pm.
CAN OTHER FRIENDS AND FAMILY COME INTO THE PARK TOO
Children aged 6-11 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult who will gain free admission into the Park (one adult per three children). Children aged 12-15 need not be accompanied by an adult. Accompanying adults will not be able to participate in the Encounter but can observe and take photographs from the sidelines. Additional close friends or family wanting to watch are welcome and will be able to enter the Park at a discounted rate.
WILL I GO IN WITH THE ANIMALS AND CAN I TOUCH THEM
You will be able to enter many of the enclosures but only in the company of an experienced Animal Keeper at all times. It is important that you listen and adhere to instructions given to you. You will be guided regarding what animals you can safely get close to. Please keep your face away from the animals and do not try to hug or kiss any of them.
DO ANY OF THE ANIMALS BITE AND ARE THERE ANY DANGERS
The animals you come into close contact with are all used to human contact and do not normally display behaviour that is threatening to visitors. However, it must be recognised that no animal is absolutely predictable and therefore there is always a small amount of risk of being bitten or scratched. The Animal Care Team will continuously monitor the animals and the Junior Wildlife Experience sessions are conducted in such a way as to reduce the likelihood of unpredictable behaviour.
Junior Wildlife participants will be offered disposable gloves and are requested to wash their hands after close contact with animals and animal feed. When inside animal enclosures, care must be taken and instructions given by the Animal Care Team must be adhered to.
Please check with your GP or medical centre that you're up to date.
WHAT DOES IT COST
£85 per child. Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult who can observe from the sidelines - admission for this accompanying adult is free (one adult per three participating children). Additional family or close friends wishing to observe the Encounter from the sidelines will be admitted into the Park at our discounted voucher rate.
